Many women have been prevented from enjoying intimacy with their partners because of pain during intercourse. Here are some of the reasons for the pain.
Again, doctors say, fibroid or cervicitis — that is the inflammation of the cervix caused by s exually transmitted disease or other infection can also make s*x painful.
If the pain is more of a burning or stabbing around the opening of the v*gina, it could signal a condition called vulvodynia (a chronic pain syndrome that affects the vulva area and occurs without an identifiable cause.)
If you sense pain during the insertion of p enis into the v agina — or if you can’t even tolerate the insertion of anything into the v agina, it may be due to a condition called v aginismus (a painful spasmodic contraction of the v agina in response to physical contact or pressure, especially during s exual intercourse).
Some people experience v aginal swelling, itching, and/or pain after s ex, especially if they use condom. If the pain only lasts for about 36 hours, you might just be allergic to latex.
If you have a latex allergy, you can use the polyurethane condom as an alternative and avoid this allergic painful reaction.
If the symptoms last longer than a day or two, or don’t go away after switching condoms, seeing your doctor will help you figure out if an underlying problem, such as v aginal infection, is responsible.
